Welcome to Snowflakes by Sarah! This website is a gallery and shop in one, a place to browse and buy one-of-a-kind handmade paper snowflake ornaments and jewelry. I have cut every snowflake out of paper by hand, and laminated each one to make it permanent. Feel free to spend a some time with each snowflake, as you would with pictures in a gallery. The longer you look at them, the more you see. Some of them are abstract, and some are full of designs -- trees, bells, vines, wine glasses, flowers, butterflies, and many, many more.

Hooray!
An exorbitant shipping price, which you might not find out about until you're checking out, is often the catch of internet shopping. Since snowflakes are lightweight (and the ornaments are conveniently flat), I am absorbing the relatively low shipping cost to anywhere in the U.S. Happy shopping!

Payment through Paypal.
What is Paypal? Paypal, if you have never used it before, is a secure third-party credit card handler owned by ebay. Paypal is totally free for you. (They make money by taking a small percentage of each sale from vendors like me.) When you click "add to cart" on any item on this site, you will activate a link to the Paypal website, where you will be asked to enter your shipping and billing information and your credit/debit card number. Paypal is secure. They do not share any information they collect.

Custom ornament orders.
A recap of the ground rules of custom snowflakes from the FAQ section: while I am very handy with the scissors, there are designs that I won't be able to do. Designs almost always have to be bilaterally symmetrical, as I described in the FAQ section. Some examples of special commissions which I've been able to do are fish, sailboats, palm trees, crabs, and violins and double basses. Custom snowflakes are $20, and I need at least ten days to complete them, not including shipping time. You can always ask me—I may be able to tackle it, but I reserve the right to say no way, I will not copy your parents' wedding picture into a snowflake. Two more examples of unsuccessful patterns: cats and dogs (unless you want them to have two tails), and lovers entwined (they just look like a blob).

One-of-a-kind.
This is a reminder that each and every hand-cut snowflake you see is the only one like it. When you fill up your shopping cart, be sure that the maximum "quantity" for any particular item you buy is 1. Paypal will automatically give you the option of putting a number higher than 1 in the box, but please ignore this feature of the cart-screen and make sure you're only ordering one of any given item.

Privacy Policy.
My privacy policy is simple: Any information from you which I receive will be used only to send you the items you order and to collect your payment. I will not save your information or share it with any person, institution or merchant. I will never send you promotional emails or any other kind of emails. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me -- again, I will thank you for your interest in Snowflakes by Sarah, and for your business, by leaving you alone once we're done.
